I discovered this spa via “BuyaGift.com” with my sister about 5 years ago. I wouldn’t have thought to look there when buying a spa day for myself but it turns out they have really great deals.

When I first started going to this spa the deals were incredible, for example a 1hour full body massage, hours facial, a manicure and a pedicure for around £100. It also included full use of the spa and 2 course lunch. In the past few years however the spa has been taken over by Banantyne’s and the deals haven’t been as generous.

Spa 1

Deals aside this is a lovely spa to visit. The long drive way up to the white house is in the countryside which instantly helps you to start to unwind. You are greeted by friendly staff who sit you down in the dining room with the offering of free tea and coffee whilst you fill out your health form. Depending on the deal you pick you may be given a robe and slippers, but sometimes you have to bring your own (which of course you can eat your lunch in!)

It isn’t the biggest spa but I have never felt crowded or on top of people. The pool area is my favorite which is house in a large barn over looking the gardens. It has a large pool, a hydrotherapy pool, hot tub and generously sized sauna and steam room. All surround by sun loungers for you to chill or even have a cheeky nap on.

On a sunny day you can relax on a sun lounger in the lovely gardens and read a magazine or two. As you can see in my photos I have done this on many occasion.
There aren’t many quirky features to this spa but in the old house it does have character and is classically charming. My favorite treatment here is the aromatherapy massage which was in a beautiful room upstairs with a bay window which was slightly open so I could hear the birds and smell the summer breeze.

On my second to last visit, the first time since it had changed hands, I did have a few unexpected issues. My debit card went walkies when it was left out on the side in the dining room. It was in the security box but they had forgotten to put it in the office after we had registered in the morning. The second incident involved a beauty therapist using her mobile to text next to my head whilst giving me a scalp massage. I was too sheepish to say anything on the day however when I complained in writing when I got home the team did respond quickly and offered me a complimentary spa day for two to apologize. I am pleased to report when I did return it all went smoothly and I once again had a great spa experience.

It does look like it has been refurbished since my last visit so I need to visit again to check it out for you all but from the photos it looks even better than it did before.
