With under a week to go until the big day a trip to Champneys Tring was just what I needed to help relax in the mist of last minute wedding planning.
We booked this deal back in January in their winter sale and it was perfect as we could use it the Sunday before the wedding. It was £138 each and included full use of the spa, robes and slippers, lunch, 50 minute facial and 50 minute scrub massage. We got to choose these treatments from a select list in advance.
I have been to Champneys Tring before but not for many years so I was intrigued to see if it had changed.
On arrival I instantly felt more chilled and super excited for a whole day of pampering. It was noticeable as soon as I entered the manor house it had been redecorated since I was last there and it was impressive and felt more luxurious.
The other noticeable change was breakfast on arrival. Fresh fruit, pastries, yogurt and juices were all available for you to enjoy whilst over looking the gardens.
Even though the weather wasn’t at its best we enjoyed the outdoor hot tub and a wander in the garden… in our robes of course. That is one of Champneys Tring’s great features, the garden is a place you can just lose yourself in to truly unwind.
The hydrotherapy pool was open to everyone, before you used to have to book in a slot but they have changed this so you can check it out any time in the day, it was great to ease the aches in my back!
There were lots of new rooms to hide away in to take a nap, read quietly or simply just chill in. You never felt on top of others and there was always space for everyone.
Another new feature was the Marine and Wellness spa area, we didn’t venture into this area as you had to book separately but it did look interesting. Let me know if you have been in there before. Definitely one for next time.
The scrub I had was perfectly timed before the wedding and before I began my fake tan process. The therapist asked me to choose which scent scrub I wanted, I had three scents to choose from, it was a lovely touch. She also asked if I would like the massage time after the scrub to be used on just my back so was more intensive for my knots or a whole body which wouldn’t have allowed much time for my back and shoulders. I opted for shoulders, and I was so pleased I did, the wedding stress was definitely sat there!
My facial was based a lot on massage rather than intense cleansing. I hadn’t experienced this kind of facial before but I loved it. The therapist was so gentle and the creams she used were so soft my skin was glowing after and less puffy.
We finished the day with a stretch and relax class. I never normally book onto a class at a spa but wanted to try something new. It was filled with some intense but easy to do stretches and left me feeling more energised then I normally do after a spa day. I recommend trying it!
